From Pages to Perspectives

So, as this month has come to an end, and as I promised to write at least one piece each month, here I am. Like always, I struggle with writing. Do not know what should I write about not because I have nothing to say or No thoughts to share, but because I am an inconsistent blogger as my LinkedIn says but definitely not an inconsistent writer, as I write daily without missing a day and also read every day, as a result I find hard to write on blogpost because whatever thoghts I have all flow out of my pen in journal. these two disciplines now have become an integral part of my life as I discussed about discipline in my last post too and I am very proud of this very good habits which I have cultivated over a long period of time. As I write this post, I am reflecting on how these two habits have helped me and why you too should consider it to inculcate and incorporating this in your life and how.

So let's start with reading, As I read first, then I started writing. Like any other yt gyan video. I heard a lot about the benefits of reading books and all. Influenced by some (well, I have to say this, please have some good influence of good people over you, which is beneficial to you), so I ordered my first book, how to Win Friends and Influence People. Abhi kitab toh padh li hai woh alag baat hai ki na mein mein yaha college mein sahi se ache dost bana paaya hoon aur na influence kar paaya hoon. Not because I am introverted; perhaps it's because I have not found the right people to make friends with Jinse Meri vibe match Kare, and many other factors are there and not being able to find the right people is one of them and as everyone here comes from a different background, culture and educational statuses, it sometimes makes me feel like I am falling behind, I try to talk with people but if other does not reciprocate the same to make friend with you, you can't do much other than keep trying to find good people and no ache logo ki kami nhi padd gayi hai I am not of a thought ki ache log nhi hai it's just you are not able to find your Ajay or Abc in college as you found in school and hence I am alone. Not able to get one good friend baaki baatein toh sabse hoti hai lekin woh school wali friendship missing hai. I don't need many friends I just need only one trustworthy friend on whom I can trust. Well maaf karna mein thoda idhar udhar nikal jaata hoon, sincere apologise Let's get back to the point

So yeah where were we? So the first book I read, well I think that simply reading is not enough you need to apply learning to maximize the utility of that book(pata nhi economics ki terms blog mein kaise integrate hone lagi hai :) So whenever you read something try to share it with your friends, family, mummy whoever you want to, this helps you retain learnings with you for a long time and get real benefit out of your reading baaki one thing always keep in mind as my one friend said "you don't always need to utilize your time all the time" making some alteration to it, you don't always need to read books for the sole purpose of learning as we do in schools and colleges or competitive exams. Read just for the joy of reading, uplifting your mood, widening your perspective, and learning will follow; sikh toh aap kahi na kahin se nikal he sakte hai even from nature, you can learn a lot if you can hear and see what other people overlook.

So don't commit the mistake of starting to read books to become Gyani like I wanted to. Read for the joy of reading; read at your own pace. No need to hurry, kaha jaana hai humko bhag ke? Well, reading makes you think, learn and grow in so many aspects, from improving your personality to generating quality thoughts and so many things. I think reading more than learning gives you satisfaction, satisfies your soul, gives you me-time from the busy life and chores of day-to-day life, gives you a good sleep and a new direction to think from the perspective jisse aapne kabhi sochne ki koshish he nhi ki.

I think reading has played a very important role in my life like as I said, I don't have many friends. I think books and notebooks filled the lacuna of friends in my life. They can be your real friend they both helps you to deal with the feeling of loneliness, anxiety, depression or any other problem in your life because when you read you imagine and when you imagine you go inside that book's world where you find yourself to be a part of the story you are reading or just a spectator seeing everything that is happening from far and correlating things, you find solutions from a third-person perspective and when you write you vent out everything inside you, you don't need a second person to share your thoughts as Anne frank writes in her diary,

The paper has more patience than people

This is very true; this resonates with me, you rarely find a good friend who can listen to you patiently and doesn't judge you for what you are saying and just listen. Why do we need friends and family? We need friends and family since man is a social animal and can't live outside society can't live a in state of nature because you need someone to talk with, share your problems, happiness, and all other things and you can do it with notebooks

Coming back to reading so although, earlier, I said you can read anything, but you need to be wise while deciding what not to read. You can't read everything and anything as we are the product of the environment we live in, what we read and watch. We need to be a little wise when it comes to reading and watching. And one more thing I want to say is don't fall for the Quote "don't judge a book by its cover", if the cover intrigues you do give it a read because if the cover is good most possibly it's a good book but not necessarily a good book and second thing is its not necessary to read a whole book if you are not able to read it, not liking it maybe it's not for you, as warikoo rightly says

It is as much the book's responsibility to earn your attention as much as it is your responsibility to give the book its attention

Now, how to inculcate reading habit it is not as hard as you may think, and you don't need to read Atomic Habit to learn how to make a habit of reading or any habit since you'd need to read a book first to build the habit of reading, habit ko banane k liye bhi aapko book padhni padhegi lol. Well, the very first thing you need to do is to first remove the thought from your mind that you don't have time to read, the biggest hurdle that is stopping you from entering into the world of reading and being a part of very good discipline is this thought only, trust me you do have time just before going to bed give 10 minute 20 minute apni shraddha k hisab se, waise b itna samay toh nind aane mein lag jaata hai and then increase reading time slowly no need to hurry as I said bhag ke kaha jaana hai.

Now comes the second step, make it accessible. Your books should reach to your bed before your phone, and you take it up and start reading slowly and patiently dive into it. Take time, and there you go. Be disciplined with it daily even if you are very tired or very sleepy one page would suffice that day but do not let these factors break your discipline, to know how discipline helps you and gives you a proud feeling you can read last month's post, well trust me this can be one of the best thing and best favour you will do to yourself. And when you turn back and see, you will realise how different a person you have become, how more self-aware, more charming and beautiful your thoughts have become; you will start to look at this world with a different lens. Well, I am also on my journey to learn things. On this note, I pause here and will tell you about writing in the next post; thank you for reading, and congratulate yourself if you have come till here. You already have embarked on your reading journey toh konsi kitab padhne jaa rhe aap aaj raat ko? 🫡
